In 2013, the Centre d’expertise en gestion agricole (CEGA) analyzed many surveys/studies/focus groups regarding constraints related to management. In addition to the task of producing and filing documents to meet increasingly stringent government requirements, the key findings at the time were the burden of administrative and financial tasks, which left next to no time to managers to be truly invested in the regular analysis of financial results. Therefore, for all businesses, paperwork represents a major obstacle to the adoption of good management practices.
This observation led the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to mandate the CEGA with the task of developing a software that would help businesses organize paperwork management and rapidly extract technical and economic information, all while making such a software easy to use in real time by producers and their advisors alike. Today, that software goes by the name of Aleop.
A team of experts worked for four years on this groundbreaking tool that will propel agricultural management into the digital age. In order to accelerate the development of the last Aleop modules and its commercial release in Canada, the CEGA decided to transfer all activities related to the software known as AleopTM to a joint-stock corporation by the name of Solution Aleop Inc. The headquarters of this corporation, created in 2018, are located in Québec.

Robert-H Verge, Agronomist, Chairman of the board of directors and Secretary-Treasurer. He has 30 years of experience in agricultural financing and tool development (FAFQ), as well as five years of experience in program administration and strategic planning as a manager for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ). He played a part in the creation of several businesses (CRAAQ / Les Fleurons du Québec / réseaux Agriconseils / CEGA).
André Grenier, Agronomist, director appointed by the CEGA. He is Vice-President of Solution Aleop. He has been advising businesses for more than 35 years. He runs an agricultural management consulting firm known as Question Conseil, with more than 500 clients. Furthermore, he is president of the Réseau d’expertise en gestion agricole.
Rémy Lambert, PhD, is a director appointed by the CEGA. He is a full professor of agro-food economics and marketing, at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FSAA) at Université Laval. He is president of the CEGA and a research fellow of the Centre de Recherche en économie de l’Environnement, de l’Agroalimentaire, des Transports et de l’Énergie (CREATE) and of the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods (INAF).
Patrice Carle has been an agro-economist since 1987. He started his professional career as a management advisor in a consulting group. When offered to manage a dairy cooperative, he left consulting groups behind after 12 years of service, then, five years later, joined a private group as Purchasing Manager, in charge of all stock positions. In 2009, he felt like he experienced all that position had to offer and joined the CEGA, whose offices are located at the Université Laval. He is a director of Solution Aleop and leads operations as Chief Executive Officer.

In 2009, he felt like he experienced all that position had to offer and joined the CEGA, whose offices are located at the Université Laval. He is a director of Solution Aleop and leads operations as Chief Executive Officer.

Serge worked for more than 20 years in accounting and IT for various manufacturing businesses before joining the CEGA team in 2014. Right from the start, he put his experience to good work in the development of Aleop. Additionally, he helped numerous producers to integrate Aleop in their existing systems. Since November 1, 2019, his focus is on growing sales and analyzing client needs.

Marc grew up on a dairy farm in Montérégie, but his professional career started and evolved at SIGA Informatique. For 30 years, he was instructor, customer service manager and administrative manager before becoming co-owner. Since the launch of Aleop, he has become an advisor for this new organization. He is in charge of integrating the Aleop system and its various components into the clients’ equipment and IT hardware.

Yvon was an agricultural management advisor for agricultural businesses for 15 years, then for agro-food businesses for another five years. During that time, he contributed to the conception of tools to improve data collection and monitoring in business management. He shared his knowledge by teaching at a professional level for five years. Before joining the team of Solution Aleop, he held the titles of Project Manager and Director of Operations, Services and Projects for five years at the Centre de développement du porc du Québec. He currently works as a consultant and as an integrator for Solution Aleop, using his experience to improve the tool to meet the needs of agricultural businesses and to make it the best decision-making and monitoring tool possible.
For more than 17 years, Sébastien has been working in information technology and has held many positions: software engineer, data manager and operational manager. He has gained experience in several business realities, both in manufacturing and distribution, which he now puts to use in the agricultural sector for Solution Aleop; a unique product with tremendous potential.
He has acquired solid knowledge as an analyst and programmer in the development of Web and client-server solution for over 12 years, within various fields of work. For the last few years, his main focus has been on software architecture, management of development teams, as well as diagnosis and resolution of development problems. Based on his training, his learning activities and his work experience, he is able to skillfully understand his clients’ needs and recommend appropriate, efficient and effective solutions.
After a long career with Bell Canada, she went into business in 2006 by acquiring a marina where she took on the business’s accounting and invoicing. In 2016, the opportunity arose for her to join the Aleop team as functional analyst. In this role, she is responsible for quality assurance and contributes to putting in place solutions to improve the performance of the Aleop software.
